1 - Area to cover x profile conversion factor = quantity in fbm

1 x 6" rabbeted bevel: 1.26 conversion factor
1,000 ft2 x 1.26 = 1,260 fbm

2 - Add 3% for losses due to cutting

Amount in fbm x 1.03
1,260 fbm x 1.03 = 1,298 fbm

Total amount: 1,298 fbm

Board and Batten

1 - Area to cover x profile conversion factor = quantity in fbm

1,000 ft2 x 1.24 = 1,240 fbm

2 - Add 3% for losses due to cutting

Amount in fbm x 1.03
1,240 fbm x 1.03 = 1,277 fbm > Total amount: 1,277 fbm

3 - To calculate the amount of 1" x 10" board, multiply the total amount by 0.83

1,277 fbm x 0.83 = 1,060 fbm

4 - To calculate the amount of 1" x 2" batten, multiply the total amount by 0.17
      Batten must be ordered in linear feet. Multiply the amount of fbm by 6

1,277 fbm x 0.17 = 217 fbm
217 fbm x 6 = 1,302 lin ft

Total amount to order: 1,060 fbm of board and 1,302 lin ft of batten
